This Asian native was the last new bird of the trip, on my last day on the island. This and the Japanese Quail proved almost impossible to get a look at. I had heard this bird sing at least 20 times with no sighting, before going to what is known as the best place for a look at this bird. True to word, this bird was singing high up in a tree in the forest at Keahua Arboretum, instead of in heavy cover as everywhere else I had the birds. While the picture is terrible (Hawaii was by far the toughest area to photograph birds I tried yet), the drab plumage and pale eyebrow are visible. This was my 1st experience with Old World Warblers, with the Bush-Warblers being in the Cettia genus.
