You just have to take my word for it that the purplish, pigeon-shaped objects in the trees are Red-billed Pigeons. This is two of the three birds that were seen on the "island" looking upstream on the Rio Grande from Salineno. This had been the only regular place for this rare species during the time we were there. We saw these birds late in the afternoon, as they came into this area to roost.
