Swallow-tailed Kite

East Valley Rd, Bledsoe Co TN view map

At the time I was thinking this was an adult bird, based on the tail looking impressively long in the field. Now after looking thru my photos I am thinking young bird with the very fresh and even looking flight feathers and the very light buffy marks just visible at times on the head and neck.

Wow! What an impressive bird! This is one I always hope to see on my trips to Arkansas. I never would've imagined there being one right here in Tenn.
