I finally broke my east TN jinx of the last couple of years, when Clyde Blum called me when I was about 20 minutes away and said the bird was being seen. It was still visible when I first got there, but was pretty distant as this photo attests.

I spent almost 2 hours at this site, with a number of other birders, with the kite giving us an amazing show from time to time, though it would disappear at times for 10-15 minutes before sometimes showing up directly overhead.
