I spent a little while Thursday morning in the mountains, my 1st TN mountain birding in several years. I got all of the specialties I had hoped for.

I wasn't sure of the Chickadee situation, but these at Newfound Gap were giving the classic 2-part song and husky calls of Black-capped. Though worn, some white is visible in the greater coverts.
