Once again, Ensley beckoned me. This time it was ostensibly to try for the White-faced Ibis that Jeff found on Saturday, but mostly just to get out with the Ol'Coot and see what we could find. It was another great day, even without any really unusual birds to speak of. Any day with Peregrines and Stilt Sandpipers within 25 feet of you is a good day. Following are a few shots, mostly of a young Peregrine that kept us thoroughly entertained (the shorebirds had a different view of this though) but also some Blue-winged Teal and Lesser Yellowlegs, and a nice young Short-billed Dowithcer.
Some of the Peregrine related photos are a little graphic, but at times Mother Nature has to be.
Hope you enjoy. Jeff got most of these same photos, but with his setup and extra reach compared to mine, the photos have a different perspective.
