Dauphin Island Birding; Spring 2006

Jeff Wilson, Joe Guinn, Steve McConnell, Kenny and LaDonna Nichols, and myself had a great time on the AL coast. Passerine migration was non-existent, but an extremely cooperative Black-whiskered Vireo made up for the lack of quantity. Shorebirding was fantastic, as is expected. Seeing the variety of terns down there is also a treat.

The best time to go is late April. I've heard reports that late April is the best,even though I've never been there.

When is the best period to observe the spring migration of neotropicals? I'd like to plan a trip.
