Rione of the Pigna (Pinecone) is the 9th district of Rome and the home of the Pantheon, Santa Maria Sopra Minerva and the Palazzo Doria-Pamphili. The pinecone, once a Roman fontain, was removed in 1562 to adorn the Cortile della Pigna at the Vatican Museums.
