Annual Floral Display, de Young Museum, San Francisco March 2008.
Artists paint and sculpt flowers but this show is about floral artists using flowers to celebrate paintings and sculpture. These floral arrangements are inspired by pieces of art in the de Young museum, the connections are sometimes obvious, sometimes puzzling. I was inspired by the colors and forms of the flowers.
