Cooper's Hawk and Cowbird

This Cooper's Hawk came to our feeder here on Compton Mt in Buchanan County VA and made a meal of this female Brown-headed Cowbird. Because of the snow there were several cowbirds coming to the feeder. This sequence of photos is in chronological order. Notice how the hawk removes the larger primary feathers and eventually the whole wing.
