The Salttrip (de Zouttocht)

HOUSE BROUGHT HOME: Dutch artist Ida van der Lee found out that a house from Zoutkamp which had been transported to the Zuiderzeemuseum in 1969 had not been reconstructed. She decided that the house had to return to its place of origin. So the house (20 tons in pieces and bricks) was stowed in the 100 years old sailing tjalk 'De Bruinvisch'.
The journey from Enkhuizen to Zoutkamp took two weeks, during which several villages around the IJsselmeer were visited and presents were exchanged.
The Salttrip ended with a magnificent concert by drummer Hans Hoeksema who was inspired by the beautiful sound of the Bruinvisch' very old Kromhout diesel engine.
