Pentema is a very small village placed in the mountains behind Genova, in Val Trebbia, close to Torriglia
The rural village counts few people living here and in the past its economy was based on chestnuts and sheeps
Today all the old inhabitants have moved to town and the village has been left to its own for many years, causing a lot of problems and demages to the ancient houses. One characteristic was the original roof made with straw: leaving the houses such roofs have been demaged definitely and today they have been replaced with normal wood and slate roofs.
But in the last years a group of "Amici di Pentema" have worked hard and recovered most of the houses. The village lays on the side of a mountain and its small roads are really narrow and ripid. But the main effort of people was to organize a living presepio showing the life at the village in the past: every year from october to january you can go to Pentema and walk in its narrow roads discovering scenes of rural life around every corner.
