My Best K9 Friend Ever, Gone But Not Forgotten

Meet "QH's Century 3 x 7", common name is Gus. OK, so go ahead and ask, everyone else does, "So, What's 3 x 7?", that's easy, it's 21 silly! I'm a Century 21 Real Estate Agent.

My wife and I adopted Gus at the ripe old age of just 8 weeks, he was a bouncing, tumbling, bundle of joy that began to grow, and grow, and GROW!! I have ample experience in police training dogs and have titled several, but Gus is not the police training type. Basically, he eats so that he has enough energy to find a place to sleep until it's time to eat again. What does a 160 pound monster of a Bullmastiff eat? Well, if it were not for his loving Mom he would of course eat anything he wants, but Mom, who is 5'1" and 100 pounds soaking wet really cracks the whip!

Gus is an inside dog and without doubt the best inside dog I've ever owned. He has never "gone" in the house, puppy training was easy compaired to other dogs I've owned. The only real concern is safety for Gus. You see, Gus is a heavy dog that never complains, never whins, and hardly ever barks. He has been hurt and bleeding 2 times in his life so far, the only way I learned of this was finding blood on him. It's like NOTHING hurts him.

Other than my wife and daughter nothing else has brought more pure joy into my life, I love this dog! I had the bottom floor of our home ceramic tiled when he was one years old, Gus is a real carpet cruncher due to his weight. Gus has his own bedroom downstairs where he sleeps & hangs out with the family, he however is not allowed to roam the house at will otherwise we find that he is great at rearranging the funiture as his size and weight afford him the strength to move just about anything out of the way. We learned this early on when he tried to get a ball from under the couch!

My personal favorite photo in this gallery is the one with Santa!! This photo was taken at the Antelope Valley Mall. On a certain night each year the Mall allows pet photos with Santa so Maria and I took Gus. Being a breed that's not seen very often by the general public, Gus found himself completely surrounded by people of all shapes and sizes! The crowd around him was so large that the security guards at the mall had to disperse them as it was creating a fire exit hazard according to the fire chief who was there shoping with his family, who also met Gus. We had a GREAT time meeting Santa, although Santa seemed a little scared of Gus, but Gus sure wasn't afraid of him! Gus luvs Santa!!

UPDATE - Gone but forever loved Gus died in Jan of 2007 of kidney failure. I can't express how I feel about it except to say, parents should never out-live their kids.
