The tobacco harvest is now in full gear in Central Pennsylvania. The farmers are cutting down the tobacco plants in the fields and then bringing them in from the fields by horse drawn wagons to hang in the barn for drying. This is a picture of Jason, a Mennonite farmer friend standing high up in the barn rafters waiting for his brothers to lift another tobacco plant to him so he can hang it up to dry and cure. You can see the previously hung stalks over Jason’s head. The tobacco will be hand processed and baled for shipment during the winter.
