Tim.

I thought I’d pull back out away from yesterdays posted image to show you a long view of Tim cutting a thick slab of steel. This is the source of the shower of sparks in the previous image. I’ve known Tim now for a few years. He is primarily a metal cutter at the scrap yard, and has been doing this job for well over fifteen years. I can always count on Tim to be around some kind of flame, sparks, smoke and fire. He mostly cuts metal apart, but he has often been found stoking the flames in the smelter (A furnace for melting metal.) or burning large piles of assorted junk. If it’s burning and hot Tim is right there. Tim is a great fellow and is always helping me to get my photos. A week or two back I showed up with a block of ice and Tim placed it in his latest conflagration for me to photograph. I always give him prints of my latest experiments, and he has definitely become a partner in my creative process. I really enjoy shooting at the scrap yard. It’s always changing and the photographic possibilities are endless. BTW Tim approved of this shot. Thanks Tim.
