These photos were taken on a Sunday in Feb. 09. It was the second Sunday of spring training, provided through Squirrel Hill Baseball. The 1.5 hr long sessions were held on the Univ. of Pittsburgh campus, and the skills training was provided by players from Pitt's baseball team, and coaches.

There are two sessions, the first for ages 4-12, the second for the older kids. The children rotated in small groups, grouped according to age, from station to station, approximately every 15 minutes. It amazed me how well organized this was, for the number of kids. Also, there were more than enough coaches/players, helping each group. They covered a lot of skill sets as well, in a relatively short period of time!

In March, the kids get to go to the Pitt home opener game, then afterwards, get to practice on their outdoor field with the players!

It was a lot of fun watching the college kids teaching 4 year olds how to put their glove on, swing a bat, etc! They were very patient!
