October 2009 - Cohutta WMA and Tumbling Creek Road -
I had elbow and carotid artery surgery at the end of July. I was out of commission for 8 weeks while my elbow healed. The artery healed within 2 weeks.
This is the first picture trip Linda and I have taken since the surgeries.
We did a loop around Blue Ridge. Our trip was from Blue Ridge to Blairsville to Suches down Doublehead Gap Road to Ellijay then Boardtown Road to Bushy Head Gap Road to Cohutta WMA turning at Jack's River to Tumbling Creek Road to Copperhill TN to McCaysville GA and back to our house in Blue Ridge. Total of 7 hours and 65 miles.
This area of Georgia has received between 16-30" of rain in the past month. Once in the WMA area many trees had fallen with a few across the road. Luckily we could get my truck under all the trees. The last two fallen trees gave me 1.5" of clearance.
