Thanks for the comments bachinpops... You are correct this is the main line between Atlanta and Chattanooga just south of the town of Adairsville. I've lived within 1 mile of these tracks most of my life. I can sit at the house and hear the horn for the crossing where I took the picture. What the picture does not show is if I turn around I can take another picture with 3 miles of straight track. This is s 6.5 mile straight. I make sure it is clear both ways before clicking, grin.... For the history buffs... Adairsville is famous for being the location of the Texas which was used to catch the General during the Great Locomotive Chase (Andrews Raiders) of the Civil War. The white colored building you see in the middle of the tracks is the Adairsville Depot.
