Normally you do not see this much water rushing over the top of the dam. This is the diversion point for the Ocoee power house down stream. The wooden flume on the other side of the river is normally carrying the water to the power house. About 6 months ago a landslide took out a section of the flume so the water has no choice but to spill over the dam. TVA is still trying to repair the flume which travels several miles on the mountain tops of the area.
