I have what turns out to be a gray moth with red eyes. the larva is deposited in the ground around a mature Palo Verde Tree's trunk. The caterpillar goes up the tree and just destroys every leak on the tree. These caterpillars are in the thousands and completely strip the tree. An entomologist wants to know what Moth I am trying to control. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, I live in Lake Havasu City, Arizona if that is of any help.
