Thank you Dirk! I also like swans, quite majestetic birds especially when they fly. There are quite a lot of swans in Sweden. Mostly the mute swans (Cygnus Olor), but the whooper(?)swan (Cygnus cygnus) has increased a lot the last decades. There are about 4000-7000 pairs breeding in Sweden of the muted swan and almost 4000 pairs of the Whooper swan. In wintertime a lot of swans, mostly mute swans, gather in winter time because there isrunning water that doesn't freeze and also friendly people who feed them. Last winter you could see hundreds of them in a small hole in the ice.
I think your right about the flying swans in the background. They didn't show up where I was though. Regards Mark

Hi Mark,
Some very fine images here and I love to see the swan pictures, I became obsessed in photographing swans about a year ago. Could you tell me if these are muted swans with the orange beak or are they wild swans with the yellow beak ? Are there many swans in Sweden ? I like these swans relaxing there in front of the river and the town in the background, the swan with sunrise is also a beauty. Another question, above the town I see some object in the air, they look like flying swans, or am I dreaming ?
