Aebo,a happy giant NewFoundland/Rottweiler cross, was found in a field starved, dehydrated, and unconscious. Thanks to SPCA rescue, I was able to take him home with me in Dec.2002. He's gone from 80 to 125 lbs. in 3 weeks and is slowly getting some padding and muscle tissue back.
Had to take him back to the city for another veteranarian checkup during that 3 week period. Like wet mud drying in hot sun, his hair, skin, and tissue fissured and cracked along his spinal cord frm shoulder to tail. The vet told me this was happened after exteme dehydration and that he was in the process of healing. He is bald around the neck and the hair will never come back in a 2-inch strip. Vet said it was from a collar that was not dispensed with as the dog grew. And that he was probably tied on a short leash for most of his life. This answers my question about why Aebo likes cement so much. I think he likes living in the house with all of us now. Next, he will have to learn how to swim.
