The Lady of the Lake had engaged Mr. Heron as concierge.
He had pretended to be disabled with only one leg
to move her to pity and to get the job.
But a little later she found out the trick,
he had actually both legs, and,
besides that, he was awfully greedy and gulped down all the fish.
The Lady of the Lake decided to fire Mr. Heron
and to give the job to Mr. Duck.
But she could not do it yet;
the Herons syndicate is very powerful....
