This photo has not, very probably any interest, besides the role of preface for a rather funny story, which will be told by another picture, destined to be posted in one or two days.
So what’s that?
Just the shop window of a very baroque and appealing tea-room & restaurant.
Sergey and I had been suggested to get there for a Sunday brunch (“it’s deeeelicious”) and we started by locating the place, which actually looked very appealing….but tragically closed, with very strict opening hours, clearly indicate in a delicate and floral sign on the door.
So on Sunday we arrive with the due advance only to be looked with desolated amazement by an apparently kind and slightly too wordy guy, who waved frantically.
“I’m sooooo soooorrry! You had to boooook.
We are totally overwhelmed at brunch time….no room.
I’m soooooo soooorry!
Please, come back this afternoon, at 4 o’clock, neither before, nor later.
At least you’ll taste Laurent’s pastries and our teas…they are gorgeuuuuus!”
At 5 to 4 we were back.
The gesticulating guy rose from a velvet curtain and looked at us strictly:
“I’m soooo desolated, you didn’t book!
No room!”
Please come on Wednesday for lunch”
Just to avoid any further risk of coping with his gesticulating sorry attitude, even though he didn’t told us it would have been necessary, we booked carefully.
I asked him if we would have had time enough for lunch, because we had to be back to the hotel at 2 pm. Since it would have been the last day of our stay.
“Absolutelyyyyyy- the guy nearly flied like a butterfly- you’ll have all the timeeeeeee!
Come here exactly at noon.
I’m delighteeeeddddd!”
