Lunch « Chez Julien »

Paris (France)

The last meal, at least for this time, in Paris.
It’s a warm, sunny day and we feel like having something nice for lunch.

This little charming restaurant was founded in 1780 and originally it was a bakery.
It’s set in a splendid location by the church of St. Gervais, in an apparently a little secluded street, with a quiet charm of a village, even though it’s in the centre of Paris, a few steps from the City Hall.

When the weather allows it, it’s nice to eat outdoor on the terrace, as we have decided to do today.
It’s not very touristic, it’s charming and I think the cooking, traditionally French with a little of fancy, is good, at least at our taste, you know what I mean…foie gras, frogs’ legs, rack of lamb and a massive Chateaubriand steak with good crispy fries, even though this time we chose only fish and sea food ( delicious).

Of course it’s not cheap, I’d say it’s “reasonably expensive”, but we are in the hearth of Paris after all!

In all cases tastes are a very personal matters, some people might not like it, but we had a very good experience.
