The old, coloured houses invite to stroll over for shopping...

Stresa - Lake Maggiore (Italy)

Being conditioned by the festival of food we have found ourselves in, when we noticed the sign
“ Acqua di Stresa” – Water of Stresa-
we thought it was a name for a drink, maybe a wine, called “ water” as a pun...

But after inquiring we realized “Acqua di Stresa” is a local perfume.

A poetic shop assistant, in lyrical impetus, declaimed:

“Close your eyes and imagine the shores of an Italian lake, the most beloved by all artists and poets: in front of you three small enchanted islands with their perfumed gardens and snowy peaks all around recreate the scenery of a fairy tale.
Small waves of blue water are hypnotising you...you are in Stresa on Lake Maggiore.
Now open your nostrils :the wind brings you the smell of a blossoming olea fragrans , the delicate fruity note of a camellia sasanqua, thousands of white rose petals, the scent of the grenadine red fruit just fallen from the tree, and also the freshness of the citrus zest.
This unforgettable emotion has a name:
Acqua di Stresa, the perfume of Lake Maggiore....”

Ohhhh!
