Cheeky little sod! I noticed this in Melbourne too, with sparrows discovering where the good eating can be. Although I seldom saw them get this close.

Nice example of how some birds have adapted to, and thrive in, the urban environment, throughout the world. Maybe they think they are people. If some organization is willing to offer me a generous sum of grant money (or even a modest sum of money), I am willing to travel the world with a camera, making a detailed study of this interaction.
