Once upon a time , by a small castle in a rainy day....

Yvoire (France)

Yvoire’s strategic position, between the “small lake” and the “big lake”
was well known by Count Amédée V the Great,
who ordered to build up fortifications in 1306,
during the war between the Dauphiné and Savoy.
For half a century, the village of Yvoire had a very important military role.

Beautiful old building. I like the softness caused by the rain. Very well done.

Beautiful! The splash of floral colour against the stone is wonderful. What is this large building used for now? Surely it is not a private residence.
