I found this statue quite imposing and a bit overwhelming,
then I saw one even bigger in Marseille...wait and see!
Actually the matter is that the Popes who had lived in the Palace had never been able to see this enormous statue, because it was built some centuries later, in 1859 and placed on the top of the ancient Cathedral, which had been much damaged by historical vicissitude and by time itself....
