AMERICAN PRIDE

Originally built as a two-masted “schooner-dragger,” American Pride had a third mast added along
with a complete restoration in 1986. She spent more than 40 years commercially fishing in the
Grand Banks and George Banks region off New Foundland. American Pride is part of the American
Heritage Marine Institute in Long Beach, California, and offers scientific and living history
