Thank you for shearing fotoes from the orphanage with us! We went from Norway to Changsha 1st SWI in april 2002 and you have taken fotos of our girl just a mounth before we got her! (she is the girl in the crib with the tumble in her mouth:-). She now lives in Norway - a happy, lovely girl at 10 :-)

Our daughter, Anna, now 3, lived in this orphanage for most of her first year before moving to the new facility just about 1 month before we adopted her in November 2003. Anna and I were looking for some photos of Changsha and it was great to be able to show her where she spent her early days. Thank you.

Great pictures! My husband and I adopted our daughter from the same orphanage in April of 03. We were over in China when SARS was at its worst. The orphanage staff brought our daughter to us at the hotel. They told us she would have to come back to the orphanage the following day to get IV's. We were told she had pneumonia. So every day for one week we visited the orphanage to get our daughter, Madison, her treatment. I think the doctor was being overly conservative because of SARS. Madison's caregivers and the doctor were all VERY nice. Our daughter is now 4 years old and has been very healthy. She is starting to understand a little bit about her adoption. She is very talkative and had many questions after I showed her your pictures. Thank you for posting them.

Does anyone know the name of the nanny in the black jacket? We were not allowed to go to the SWI, but she delivered our daughter to us, along without agency rep. We have seen her in the photos of another family as well but don't know exactly who she is. Again, we love viewing this page.

These pictures mean SO much to my husband and me. We're adopting our first from China and will head there in a few months; and a year from then we'll go back for a second and are getting a child with a cleft palette or cleft lip. WE RECOGNIZE ALL THE PLACES AND SOME PERSONS. NOW WE ARE WAITING TO KNOW BY PHOTO OUR NEW CHINESE DAUGHTER! IT,S POSIBLE WE,LL TRAVEL TO CHINA ON DECEMBER OR JANUARY 2005, WITH OUR LITTLE XIAOYI (2 YEARS AND 8 MONTHS NOW). We was in june 2003 for our daugther Ana Yurun. Thank you very much for the images. We recognised places and staff, too. It's fantastic! Ana Yurun lives in Spain actually. Today is her birthday: ¡3 years! We are very happy with her and with her two brothers. We hope anxiously the next year, because we want a chinese sister. A big hug for all the families with chinese children.

These are so comforting thank you for sharing them--these may be the best photos I have ever seen on the site!! It's good to know the orphanages are getting better! I go in the Spring/Summer to get my daughter (who may have known yours--she was born 1/21/01-Yao Jing Jing--? )Again thank you so much for these-they're great!

Thanks for lovely photos from Changsha No.1. We went there in February 2002 with our daughter Lina Xiao-Lan ( Yao Xiao Lan ) Recognised places and staff. Lina Xiao-Lan now lives in Norway and so does 13 other girls from CSWI - a big travelgroup!! Best of luck from another Changsha-mum

Wow! Thank you so much for these photos, I just looked at them with Abby, age 8.5 who said happily, "That's cool! I thought the orphanage was creepier." In her bad dreams (and in her actual history) it is, so you have truly given us a gift. Of course it is better now thanks to the good work of Amity and the Foundation for Chinese Orphanages who have made so many improvements there, thanks to the generous contributions of FCC parents. And now you have done so much to bring us all closer in posting these photos. We cannot thank you enough! What a great Easter and Passover gift, all about spring, renewal, redemption, freedom and liberation. Deepest gratitude!
