Darwins Gate Sculpture

Shrewsbury, England

The Darwin Gate sculpture was erected in 2004. It is made of cast glass, copper, bronze, stainless steel and stone. The artists Renn and Thacker designed the sculpture to represents a Saxon helmet and a Norman window combined. To see the window you have to view it from a certain viewpoint - I have tilted it for artistic reasons.
Here's what it looks like on the street.

Excellent work Steve, I had to look twice at the straight shot and still can't see the viewpoint for the tilted image. I imagine the NatWest building must be on the other side of the road. Congratulations!
