I enjoy cooking and I like getting new cookery books. Generally I skip past the baking and desserts section - I don't need the extra calories on offer. But when my son pleaded with me to make Rocky Road, arguing that he wanted to swap me for Trudy, the delightful mum who works in reception and who can bake up a storm, I decided to indulge him. Mind you, it took me about a week to assemble the ingredients and I've warned him that he had better make the Rocky Road last just as long. It tastes as good - or better - than it looks as food photography is not my forte.
