Spring is in the Air

In contrast to yesterday which was wet and grey, today was full of the
promise of Spring. Bright sunshine, clear blue skies and warm
temperatures were a pleasant reminder that winter is coming to
an end.
Back at work today, I ended up going out on the hustlings with
two of the election candidate. Even though they were both from
the opposition parties, the disillusionment with the political system
is such that they were rebuked by people who said they had lost
faith with all politicians. A chance encounter when one candidate
called to the home of another made for entertaining copy while
I met up with an old schoolfriend and former Lord Major of Dublin
who was out campaigning with her sister, the only woman standing
in Louth.

a cheerful harbinger of Spring offering perhaps more cause for optimism than the dire economic times ahead for the Irish people, no matter which party wins the coming election...V

This give me HOPE for spring. Totally understand your narrative. I work in municipal government and people are so angry and disillusioned. Sometimes it is almost unbearable for me, because I try to do a good job... yet everyone hates the government and blames ALL of us for problems.

You're torturing us with these signs of spring! We have another 7 or 8 weeks to go. But such a cheerful image!

Wow, you have green shoots already! I'm jealous. We probably won't see any green for another month or so.

Lovely intimate picture with beautiful colours. I can see why you feel cheered up. Most interesting commentary as always. Great to see that you are on the mend. Politics is almost always a source of great humour is it not? V

It's a good job they can't tax Spring... though I'm sure they'll try... :o)

The sun shining through the leaf is very reflective of the theme of the photo. The seasonal one, not the political one.

Small but very sweet and very promising.

Promising sign. Hopefully more reliable than the promises of politicians
