OK -Everyone look at the camera and smile please!

I never thought I would be glad to see sheep but when I realised that the ghostly white shapes that I saw in the pre-dawn light
were our neighbours' sheep, I was quietly delighted. It meant that I wouldn't have to go looking for a subject for my PAD. So, as soon as I got home at lunch time, I took a quick shot, planning more for the days to come.. there would be sheep by the gate for the monthly challenge, sheep portraits of earnest sheep and cute sheep and comical sheep.... Except, when I looked out the window
five minutes later they were all gone. Vanished. The field was empty. Turns out they had just been put in the field so that they
could be scanned to see if they are expecting one, two or three lambs. So, hopefully, in a few weeks times, there will be
lots of lambs frolicking in the fields for me to photograph.
Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement yesterday. I know I'm not the only one doing a PAD, not the only one struggling to come up with something new to post everyday. It's just that I like to grumble from time to time.

Any time I see ghostly white shapes in the pre-dawn light, I'm relieved when they turn out to be sheep :o)

Great shot and you're lucky to have "new subjects" soon :-)

For basically dumb critters they do manage to provide some nicely expressive shots. You've made good use of the branches here not only in framing but also in emphasising the bucolic nature of the place.

What a curious bunch. Probably wondering which camera you were using!

The ignorance of some animals. The ones at the back have turned away from the camera :-)

Grumbling is good, it clears the mind of unwanted thoughts.
Happy sheep counting tonight! V

They're not very sheepish about having their photo taken, are they?! V

I always enjoy seeing photos of these lovely woolly animals. Nicely composed this one, too. V

They are all paying attention so they'll be there when you need them!

Grumble away - we don't mind a jot!

A delightful shot of these woolly creatures. Looks like you are being scanned for one reason or another. V

Great story, love the sheep. Well framed picture and they are all looking at you.
Don't you love it when the lambs start running around the padock in groups? So joyful.
Looking forward to seeing those pictures too.

It will be good to have their progeny gambolling in the back field: they will provide loads of photo opportunities for you.

I think they spotted you :o)
