Green Day

Another shot from Bellurgan Park which was open for a Hallowe'en Party yesterday.
It's a wet miserable day here and, thanks to the clocks' going back', it will be dark when
I get out of work today. Campaigners for Ireland to allign itself with Central European Time
argue that we would be a happier, healthier nation if we didn't 'put the clocks back' as we
would get an extra hour of brightness during the winter months. Although I don't like the dark evenings, I do welcome the opportunity to see the dawn without having to get up early!

Nice shot of the old beetle :) and surroundings, Mairead. V~ (6 of 1 & a half dozen of the other! Changing the time makes no sense, really. One way or the other we'll have darkness. It's the same here in the states.)

I learned to drive in a VW....I live on the East Coast all the states have DLS...we don't :((

A lovely place for the bug to pass its final days. Maybe not so great for visitors to the park. A fine shot no matter which way you look at it.

I love the old VW beetle and the way the green of the car meshes with the greens in the scene.

This does tell a story! Nicely seen & shot. Our clocks go back here next weekend, and we'll soon also be going home in the dark.

I love that time-change day in autumn because we get an extra, free hour. A fascinating image with all the different greens.

Very cool shot. My Bug looks at a pond all day. What a life :o)

Fantastic colours and the car is perfectly positioned. v

Bummer about seeing daylight savings time come to an end, isn't it? We set our clocks back this weekend.
Buggy shot! :)

I have a soft spot for the VW bug - was my first car and so much fun. Great shot!

This green bug almost blends into the lush background...whoever would have thought a Beetle could be so autumnal? Great shot, well spotted Mairead

Oh, a nice little VW Bug! I like the autumn mood in your photo!

Love this shot: it reminds me of the first brand new car my dad bought : it was this exact colour and model!

Great Autumn image Mairead...I also hate the short days of winter but do like the see the sunrise at an acceptable time... sad butwe cant have it all...BV

But on the bright side, at least you had a 49 hour weekend.
Good use of scale here; the bug being overwhelmed by the size of the trees gives a feeling of it fading into insignificance as it begins to rust away. That would have been someone's brand new pride and joy, once upon a time...

Looks like it's a biodegradable beetle

Yepthey talk about it every year here in England and do nothing. Nice Bug shot, and no Macro lens required;-)
