Relaxing

Normally we are not given to spending our holidays lying around the pool, sunbathing
or reading. We like to see as much as possible, not as in ticking off a list of 'must see'
sights but often by simply walking around the side streets and venturing off the beaten
track.
But this year, the grounds of our apartment in Sienna were so peaceful, there were World Cup matches to be watched, so
we spent more time relaxing than usual.
As my husband and son watched a match one afternoon, I sat in the welcome
shade reading. Looking up from my book, I saw a hare lope across the lawn.
Another time I spied a striped snake slithering up the stone steps.

Snake??? Where's St Patrick when you need him!

This is a remarkably restful image; adding the book to the scene was a nice touch. The E-P1 did a very nice job of handling the exposure variation between the sunny areas and the shade here (aided by your choice of exposure bias of course). That's of interest to me should I need a camera in that class.

What a lovely sounding holiday you have had, though it's a shame about the tummy bug! :(

Thats how a holiday should be. But ours end up more like yours, I never could do the lay about thing
