Books for the Noughties

A lazy pic today and the first one in about a month not shot using natural light.
Easons, Ireland's biggest bookchain, recently asked their bookclub members on Facebook
to vote for their favourite books of the Noughties.
I was quite pleased to discover that it included many of my favourite books as well as
some on my 'to read' list.
The top 50 was headed by 'The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas', John Boyne's touching
tale of friendship in Nazi Germany which has crossed the boundaries from teenage
to adult fiction.
Here are some of the title's which I've read or am planning to read in the near future.
Other favourites were borrowed from the library or have been passed on for others to
read.
My only quibble was the exclusion of Annie Proulx, Dave Eggers and Alice Munroe
who are among my favourite authors.

I've read "A Thousand Splendid Suns" which is best read after "The Kite Runner" by the same author. Both are excellent, as is your image here!

Isn't it interesting that books become friends you can't part with. This is a very comforting image!

Some well used books in that collection it appears... I can't see Kindles or iPads having quite the same texture or feel.

And even "lazy" shots can tell a story.
