What's rare is wonderful

We have a saying in Irish which means' what's rare is wonderful' and I guess that is what
lies behind my excitement about our recent snow. As can be seen from this picture, it doesn't
amount to much, but then again we don't get much snow in our wee corner of the country.
I had intended to take a photo of the snow clad mountains as I drove home for lunch
but these big white snow-laden clouds got in the way! It is still very cold, by Irish standards,
and heavier snowfalls in other parts of the country has led to traffic chaos and flights
being suspended at Dublin airport.

You got just enough snow to make everything look pretty, but not enough to shovel. I would call that pretty wonderful! Excellent composition with the tree branches framing your wintry scene. ~V~

This is a very nice winter scene, even without the mountains. Good work on your composition, there is a bright center in this photo that is framed nicely by the silhouette trees. V

Yes. An rud is annamh is iontach! I'm sure the mountains will reveal themselves with their white cap before this cold snap breaks.

Yes, one can tire of anything! But you seem to have just the right amount of snow to make it exciting. Beautiful shot of the snow covered fields seen through the branches.

there's hope in that blue sky...yet the stark, grasping branches tell another story...as do the lightly dusted fields...the frigid atmosphere must add an edge to the day...V

Great saying, not sure it always applies but it certainly does here.

Enjoy the "jewel" of snow while you can.
