Where has January gone?
In a flurry of snow and cold weather in the northern hemisphere?
In the notching up of another year for those who have had January birthdays?
In a sense of suspended animation in a country coping with the challenges of a financial recession?

But all of these questions are trivial when juxtaposed with the dreadful time-stopper suffered by people in Haiti during this month.
As each day passes we hope that the relief activities by aid agencies are starting to make some inroads to help those who are suffering so much.
