These are the individual pieces of the FEMALE MC4 connector:

From Left to Right:

-Compression Nut

-Gland Compressing Ring

-Water Tight Sealing Gland

-MC4 FEMALE Crimp Terminal

-MC4 FEMALE Plug Body

Very nice and clear thank you!! I am however not the brightest light in the chandelier, and found the "positive", "negative" situation need more thinking?

Is it correct to say that the positive, female side of the connector will be connected to the source positive (battery, panel, generator....) and from there the polarity of the connectors in the installation will be determined?

It seems to be a no brainer, however the question came up.
