I recommend changing fasteners to Allen Head Cap screws.
Much easier to operate "blind. I also slot the two
bottom holes in the cover to be parallel to each other.
This allows leaving the srews loosly in place for easy
blind reassembly.

Great job on your tutorial. This is the same original pump (33636) on both of my engines. However, this pump has been replaced by a subsequent part (48080). Before ordering parts, make sure which pump is on your engine as the rebuild kit for each pump are different. The cover on the (33636) is clearly marked and is semi-circular with flat bottom area. The 48080 is circular cover and has a longer shaft and body than the (33636) pump. CAUTION: the rebuild kits for each of these pumps is different.

Pump(older) 33636 = Rebuild kit 34466
Pump(newer) 48080 = Rebuild kit 49000

hope this helps

Very nicely done! I sometimes use the arbor on my drill press for a bearing or shaft press. Can't apply as much force as a vise but often it is enough.
