Mexico is a celebration of life and spirit, even...maybe especially...during Dia de los Muertos - the Day of the Dead. These photographs were taken during the week leading up to the Day of the Dead in Oaxaca City in the state of Oaxaca. I stayed at the delightful Casa Colonial ( http://www.casa-colonial.com) which I recommend wholeheartedly. It's a cozy, funky, low-key guest house where meals are shared and strangers quickly become friends. I've included in this gallery lots of photographs that I don't regard as my best, simply because they evoke memories I want to share with fellow guests from the Casa.
Please forgive the occasional obtrusive and fairly obnoxious credit lines.
This is a gallery-in-progress.

One of my favorite art holidays.
Nice coverage of it.

Judy, beautiful beautiful work. I actually was in Oaxaca during the same time you were, I had arrived the week before to settle in for the festivities. We may've been in some of these places at the same time. I have the Canon S2 IS, which is the model before yours. I have to say, I love my current camera, it has basically the same features with the zoom and pixel and card, but I'm still thinking of upgrading.
Beautiful pics. Found you through the Golden Tarot site, interestingly enough. Author Kat Black mentioned you there and had your link.
I'd love to send you a link of the pics I took but it may be rather redundant. :-)
