brooklyn botanic garden - a year of diana

For a year I photographed at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden with a number of Diana cameras.
The Diana is a bit of a cult item, a medium format toy camera manufactured in Asia
in the 60s. They used to cost next to nothing and were often given away as promotional gifts.
The cheap plastic lens and the imperfections of the materials cause light leaks and
arbitrary flaws in the negative that lend the images their characteristic otherworldliness.

oh Judy these are gorgeous! You have an incredible eye. I love Japanese Idyll, and esplanade abloom, and darkman magritte... so many I love! I've read about the Diana camera but I have never seen such a lovely grouping of photographs. Thank you for sharing your work!

It's wonderful to see the progression of the year.......in the marvelous 'haze' of Diana.
One of my favorite is "schoolfish too"!!
