In 1976, Bali was a delightful, pleasant, laid back destination on the overland trail from Europe to Australia. The people were delightfully friendly, the culture exciting and it was cheap. I was there in 1976 and I thought I had forgotten all those places until I saw your photographs and I could smell the spices and hear the sounds

i love your pictures very much even the pictures taken before i born. i was born november 1977. with these pictures i could see situation in bali so peacefull & the people look very natural. i hope you could come again to bali david.. and share the photos to the people all around the world show them that bali now very peacefull situation. thx Okke jodi sugiarto

I have not returned to Bali since 1976. These pics capture Bali then. I will always treasure the memory.
