Finland is the paradox of living an endless race against time in a timeless world. The bad news is that when something changes, it changes so fast that if you sneeze you might just miss it! The good news is that it always changes the same way, so if you missed it this year, you'll get another chance the next one. What I found to work in this situation is firstly slow down and then just keep it simple. I think many of my shots of Finland have this feeling of "peaceful simplicity", even when compensated by strong colors. The spirit of the place has to always transcend the personal style of the photographer... (or the other way around?...) And what Finland knows best is to calmly insist on having things done its own way...
