Since the Red Apples are now not worth growing , Orchards are being ripping out at a pace of acres a day! South End of Chelan is now dubbed the " Tahoe Of The North" . Lots of new homes going in, vineyards, wineries, etc. It is sad to see life long apple growers suddenly out of their lively hood . Wal-mart will be a new business in Chelan as well. ( Which is good or bad whichever side of the fence your on)
