Kelty " Glendale Era" Backpack,,, Mint Shape With Spreader Bar
Glendale logo Kelty Packs are older than Sun Valley Packs. Dick started making packs in 1952 at home in Glendale but moving his business to Sun Valley In 1968
I just found one like this. but its green, has a rain cover (it looks as if it where made for it??), it has three compartments inside, and a very small backpack compartment...its a pretty small capacity bag....It's in great shape. I was excited to find it. I've never even seen the Kelty pack Glendale logo before.....does anyone know anything about this pack i describe here? if so please let me know.
I remember packs whose top flap was secured by a cord tied at the bottom. Then came toggles (cord clamps). Then ladder buckles for webbing. Then the quick-release buckles that today are ubiquitous. I have an REI day pack from the late 70s or early 80s that has metal zippers on the pockets.
This Kelty looks similar to the 1974 B4 model; which is an open pack bag with no compartments. Any Kelty from Glendale is rare, and in this condition...Super! v
