Dad's Tent, 1953 Artic Military Tent He Bought In 1962

This tent may be one of the best " All Time, All Season Tents Ever" If you can find one in good shape ,buy it!! We have used this in some of the worst weather even and in has never failed. The Typpe Design in perfect to fight wind. SOme outdoor company needs to make a lightweight, yet large version of this same model. ( I have yet to see one.)

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Hi,
I just bought a Artic Army tent that is tee pee style but has no poles with it. What type of poles would you suggest

One of my all-time favorite tents was the Sierra Designs 3-man tent, which is also the teepee design. It came out in Sierra Design's very first catalog in 1966. George Marks himself told me recently that it's one of their original designs he'd seriously consider bringing back in some form.

If you want a new version, check out cabela's. I can't vouch for the quality, but the designs are certainly there.

A great place to plan the next mountain mission.

Chounaird, Golite, Black Diamond, US military (etal) all copied this simple Sioux tepee design for good reason: simplicity, space, strength, light weight, warmth, and perfection combined. Neat tent, and I like the tiki torches too! This father and son, have fallen from the same old growth tree. Thanks for this Dodge perspective..

That would be difficult to pitch on a vast expanse of sandstone---or granite.
