Lightest snow year on record in 1977, but the kicker was May was the " Worse Spring Snow On Record " and covered the ground two 2 feet of the fresh stuff. In fact , 9 thru-hikers in 1977 were resqued by helecopter in May,,,,, ( not me !! )
